Gobos

Gobos are typically used with theatrical spotlights, most commonly an ellipsoidal reflector spotlight (or "Leko"). The gobo is placed within the light's optical path, usually in a holder at the fixture's focal point. The light from the lamp passes through the gobo, and the image is then projected and focused by the fixture's lens system. The focus can be adjusted to create a crisp, sharp projection or a soft, blurry one, depending on the desired effect.
